Why do some facilities have their own page and others do not?

We publish a facility page only when public data supports a substantive one: assisted living and memory care licenses with at least one ADPH statement of deficiencies we could read, and nursing homes with a CMS Care Compare record; every other license appears as a row in the rosters.

We never visit facility websites or copy aggregator listings, and we never invent ratings. Each page and row shows its source and the date the data was retrieved.

What does the directory not include?

It does not include non-medical home care agencies or independent living, because ADPH's facilities directory has no license category for them, and it does not include prices, which no public source publishes for individual facilities.

For costs, see Alabama's 2025 medians.

How do we pull deficiency tags from ADPH reports?

For every assisted living and specialty care license with posted surveys, we read the newest statements of deficiencies on ADPH's site and record the survey date, the bed count and census in the surveyor's notes, and each deficiency tag with the rule it cites.

A tag count is a starting point, not a grade. Each facility page links to the original report so families can read the findings and the facility's plan of correction for themselves.

How current is the directory?

The license roster reflects ADPH's directory export of October 30, 2026, the CMS nursing home file is dated October 1, 2026, and the survey postings were read on October 30, 2026; each page repeats the date of its data.

Licenses change during the year as facilities open, close or change hands, so confirm a license on ADPH's site before signing anything. If you spot a listing that no longer matches ADPH, tell us and we will recheck it.
